Beautiful makeover for a Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time location

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, first released in 1998, sits up there as one of the best games of all time. It's one of the very few games ever to score a perfect 10 out of 10 during CNET sister site GameSpot's long history of reviewing video games. That score means the reviewers think a game is so phenomenal it should be played by everyone.

Fans are desperately awaiting a high-definition remake of the beloved classic Nintendo 64 game -- like the one similarly beloved game Final Fantasy VII is getting on PlayStation 4 -- and a new video from Chicago-based visual-effects artist Michael Eurek shows just how beautiful such a game would look in a modern gaming engine.

In the clip, Eurek re-creates one of more iconic locations from Ocarina of Time -- Zora's Domain -- in high definition using Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4 suite of game developer tools.

Like his previous video re-creating the Temple of Time, Eurek's Zora's Domain looks absolutely stunning, and with subtle touches like the Zora's Domain theme song playing in the background and King Zora perched on top of Zora's Waterfall, viewers really get the sense they're thrust back into the world of Hyrule.

Now, we can only hope the folks at Nintendo see this video and use it as inspiration to finally begin working on a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I, for one, would throw all of my rupees at that game.
